What is the meaning of sin?
With sin in general we
describe deeds who cause undesirable
effects, such as lying, stealing or having affairs.
When God speaks of sin, it
has a completely different meaning. In God's eyes to live in sin or to be a
sinner means to exist in the state of separation from God. In this state there is no
connection between God, respectively the spirit of man, and man himself. What ever man does or does not, good or bad deeds, does not change this state.
God is not interested in
deeds. He wants to enter into a unity with man. Once the person is in the union
with God, he or she is no longer a sinner, because the separation, that is the sin,
does not exist anymore. This human being cannot sin anymore
from now on. His deeds are either done by the Holy Spirit and therefore in the will
of God, or by the old man, the old self that still exists in him. Deeds done by
the old self are called errors and they are irrelevant to God. Human works/deeds
are of no interest to God, he sees only the heart of man.
Relevant is only whether the
person lives in the oneness with God or not.
